The penny was scrapped on February 4, 2013. I decided to secretly keep track of the income from rounding to the nearest 5 cents. Doesn't look good; I lose about 24 cents a year. If there was a nefarious penny shaving scheme by super-villans, the best estimate of how much money they would make from Canada, according to this data, is 8 204 000$ CDN / year (using the 2012 popluation, 34.88e6.)
